Logan Chapo
LBCC Student

Walking in front of the Calapooia center I stumbled along a musician gifting the campus with some of his original songs. I decided to sit down and interview Logan and ask him some questions.
Q: "What is your major?"
A: My major is music! Music is something that I have been passionate about since a very young age, and I'm extremely excited to be attending college for it."
Q: "How would you describe your dream job?"
A: "Obviously, my dream job would be a musician. Going on tour, writing my own songs, living life for music and nothing else sounds amazing and pure to me."
Q: "Other than music, what are some of your favorite hobbies?"
A: " I really enjoy writing poetry because it helps so much with writing songs. I also love to visit the beach and run around on the sand. Playing music with other artists, and collaborating sounds is something that really excites me as well."

Rhiannon Chuck
LBCC Employee

While grabbing a couple books for some classes Rhiannon helped me locate what I was looking for, afterwards I asked her if she would sit down with me and answer some questions.
Q: "What do you do at LBCC?"
A: " I work in the campus bookstore, and help by answering questions, helping students find books, supplies, and sometimes advice!"
Q: "Why did you choose LB?"
A: "I chose Linn Benton because it is an excellent school, with many promising students, and such a pleasant staff. I really believe in the experience that community college offers, and I think it is a great path for a lot of students to embark on."
Q: "What do you think LB could improve on?"
A: " Obviously, you can always find stuff to improve on. But from my perspective I think that Linn Benton has got it going on. The friendly staff, easy to navigate campus, and informative classes make for a great environment for the students and faculty that are here."

I'm John Freimark, I am 6'3 and just recently turned 20 years old. I have major obsessions with three things. Movies, Poker, and Basketball. My favorite movie is Goodfellas, the immortal gangster classic from Martin Scorcese. My favorite hand in poker in Jack 9 suited in hearts. And my favorite basketball player is Lebron James. I am a journalism major with hopes of going into sports journalism/broadcasting. I am taking this class so I can get on the fast track to transfer to UO and get into their journalism school.

Now that school has started and I'm ready for the challenge of becoming of photojournalist, I am holding myself to a high standard this school year. I would love to shoot a sporting event this year and get it published in the commuter. I have a real passion for sports and would love to see if I can capture some really cool shots. Another goal of mine would be too become more confident with taking pictures. I feel like photography can be something that is deeply personal and can capture certain emotions and feelings that are sometimes hard to make into words. I hope that once I start getting better with the camera I would be able to capture some photos like that. My next goal is to become very skilled with photoshop. I think photoshop would be a fun tool to have in my belt, and could help me in some unexpected ways.

This being our first assignment of the year I wasn't nervous at all, I don't really have that hard of a time introducing myself to people, and consider myself to be a through guy. I started off with the pictures, and go about 10-12 for each subject. Then I asked them about 3 questions each. Once I was done, I thanked them and went on my way. Simple enough. I think the final product turned out good! I need to check out a camera so I don't have to take all of these shots on my I-phone and then I'll be happier with the quality.  My favorite part of this assignment was getting to choose my subjects, and getting to know them a little bit better than before.

Humans of LBCC

                                                                        Skye Wheeler
LBCC Business Office
I met Skye on Wednesday when I was settling my tuition payment, and her friendliness brought me to choose her for one of my subjects for Humans of LBCC. I asked Skye, "How are you involved at LB?"
She responds telling me, "I work in the Business office. I help students manage and make payments for their accounts. One of the speciality things that I do around here, is that I manage all outside scholarships coming in for our students," I then asked Skye how long she had been tenured at LB. "Just a little over a year and a half," Skye tells me that she has really enjoyed working at LB, and loves seeing students succeed. Skye tells me that her favorite part of working at LB is "Every year new students and new faces come through those doors, and you get to meet the people who are about to go out there and change our world, It is an extreme privilege for us to help and shape those new leaders,"

                                                                        Logan Hanson
                                                                 LBCC Baseball Team
This is Logan Hanson, he's a starting outfielder for the LB baseball team (and my roommate.)
I began with asking Logan what his major is, "I don't have an official major anymore because I dropped the business major title last year," I asked Logan about life as a student athlete and the struggles that having to balance school, and athletics can pose to those students. "It can be tough, having to manage time with practice and games, sometimes having to travel for those games. It is extremely time consuming and then when you add homework onto that, it almost feels impossible sometimes. A combination of hard work, persistence, and using the resources at LB have always helped me succeed," Just for a little fun I asked Logan about his favorite TV show. "My favorite show is definitely Naruto, It's about like 500 twenty minute episodes, so it takes a good while to get through it all but it's really good."
